(Volatile Organic Compounds - VOCs)
Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) are chemicals that evaporate easily at room temperature. The term “organic” indicates that the compounds contain carbon. VOC exposures are often associated with an odor while other times there is no odor. Both can be harmful. There are thousands of different VOCs produced and used in our daily lives.

Company History
Our company was founded in 1883 when an entrepreneur named Benjamin Moore and his brother William began manufacturing a coating for walls called Calsom Finish in Brooklyn, New York. From these humble beginnings, the company has grown to become a leading national coatings manufacturer, distributing through a network of independent retailers in all 50 states and throughout Canada.
Benjamin Moore understood that his own strong values would provide the foundation for a successful company and a respected brand. He recognized that a customer had the right to rely implicitly upon the good faith of the manufacturer and upon the unvarying quality of his product. He also established the practice of distributing Benjamin Moore® products solely through a network of independent retailers.
